PostSubject: foundation   Wed Sep 19, 2007 2:29 pm

Okay, so Iv'e never really used it before, but lately I've been noticing my skin is a little blotchy and I want to kind of even it out. Nothing super, super noticible or anything just like dark circles and my nose is darker than the rest of my face from wearing big sunglasses all summer....
Anyway, I would like to get something thats really lightweight and also good for sensitive skin. Alot of the reason I never wore it before is I hate the feeling of something heavy on my face so....ideas?

Also how do you deal with the whole moisturizer and foundation thing? Do you just do moisturizer first?

*waits for Puffy to come along*

I did moisturizer under my concealer just now, and it made a world of difference. I've read that you should let the moisturizer absorb a minute or two before putting anything on top of it, though. Maybe all you'd need is a concealer, considering it's just your nose and dark circles(under-eye, right? yellow concealer will help cover that even more!).

moisturizer first. wait five minutes, four if youre in a rush; then foundation. try maybelline's pure foundation if you dont have oily skin like I do. it'll do the job to cover up your splotchy bits, plus, its super light.

I prefer my CG trublend. it was the first foundation I used that worked. makes your skin feel awesome. its got a creamier, slightly heavier formula though. so try the pure foundation first and see how it works for you.

Cool, yeah I've been using concealer but I think I actually need both, I got some serious circles going on.

ah, so do I. my mark concealer is great, but I need something a little thicker. I may try adding loose powder a shade lighter than my tone to it to see how that goes.

One of my problems with the thicker concealer is it settles into the fine lines at the corners of my eyes making them look a million times more prominent than they actually are. So on really bad days my options are look really tired or old. Blah!

I would love to know what 40-50 year olds with serious laugh lines do....

Theres something to look forward to...

I know what will help, then.

foundation primer/mattifier.

you can find a decent one at Target.

it'll make your lines less prominent.

I love the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse. Apply it with a sponge, and it's fantastic. It doesn't settle, crease, or look yucky. If you need a touch extra "matte", it works well with loose powder on top (I use mineral powder).

What about tinted moisturiser, and then concealer? Or the other way whichever you prefer. Tinted moisturiser is less heavy than foundation which mite b better for you. Or try a mineral foundation, like L'oreals one, which is really nice!

Do you know a good brand? We don't have Target in Canada.

And Shauna, my friend actually reccomended that too. I was going to get some at Wal-Mart the other day but then spazzed out about picking the right color.

Kate (brokentreehouse) I don't think the spoon thing would help because its darkness not puffiness.

Go to a Shoppers and ask the person there what shade you need to use. I generally get the lightest Ivory (I think it's "natural ivory").
